Odisha has decided to continue with its Unlock strategy in the wake of increase in the number of cases among health workers, slum dwellers and violation of social distancing protocols. However, there are certain relaxations even though weekend shutdown will continue in 13 districts now. For smoother management and facilitation of critical care, the State Government has come with categorization of Odisha’s 30 districts into two zones.
10 Districts with more than 50 Positive cases have been demarcated into Zone 1 while the rest 20 Districts are in Zone 2.
Local authorities can impose restrictions on intra-district transport, closure/reopening of malls and business establishments, Government and private institutions, etc.
Zone 2 - (20 districts) - Puri, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Sundargarh, Balangir, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Bargarh, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Koraput, Boudh, Nabarangapur, Rayagada, Subarnapur
All permissible activities are allowed in Zone 2, except during Night Curfew. However, educational institutions, Cinema halls, gymnasiums, swimming pools, entertainment complexes, theatres, auditoriums, assembly halls will remain closed.
Activities Allowed during Weekend Shutdown:
All medical establishments, Movement of Ambulance and all medical personnel.
Home Delivery of food, groceries, vegetables and essential items
Milkbooths
Food & Grocery stores for Home delivery
Newspaper hawkers between 5 am to 8 am only
District and Municipal Administration/ Police/ Fire Services
Central & State Government officials on emergency duty
Telecom services
Petrol pumps
Print and Electronic Media
Water Supply, sanitation and sewerage workers
Electricity supply and distribution
Movement of goods and good carriers
Industrial establishments, factories and construction activities
Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Services and allied activities, including procurement at Mandis
Service sector industries, including IT/ ITes, Hotel & Hospitality units
Rail, Air & Road transport (highways/transiting vehicles)
Public Transport, private vehicles, taxis/cabs to and from airports, railway station and bus terminals/ stands/ stops
Airports, Railway Stations, Bus Terminals
Marriages and Funerals, with permission of local authority.
ATMs and critical financial institutions like RBI, Clearing Houses
