With continuing surge in COVID-19 cases in Odisha and people's lack of taking responsibility as well as refusal to follow COVID Guidelines despite hefty fines being imposed on spitting in public and on not wearing masks, the State Government decided to impose a complete lockdown of 14 days in 4 districts - Khurda, Ganjam, Jajpur, Cuttack and in Rourkela Municipal Corporation till July 31. Earlier, the Government had imposed Weekend shutdown and night curfew from 9PM to 5AM. However, the situation seems to have worsened with community transmission and healthcare workers getting infected as well.
