Bhubaneswar In Lockdown 2020 - A Photo Story

It was on March 21, 2020, that the Union Government imposed a full-day lockdown, termed ‘Janta Curfew’, to counteract the rapid spread of COVID-19. It was soon followed by the Odisha Government enforcing complete lockdown in major districts of the State, barring the movement of essential services. From March 22 till May 4, the streets of the capital city Bhubaneswar wore a deserted look. Except for frontline workers & essential services like groceries, healthcare, deliveries, etc, there was no soul in sight for what seemed like weeks on end.

Quantum Leap Studio (QLS) got a few snippets of what life was like during those weeks of lockdown where we were cooped inside our homes while the world around us kept changing. Take a look.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 danger is still prevalent; the virus is still out there and India as well as Odisha is encountering a second wave. We, for sure, do not want another lockdown and hence, need to follow all COVID-19 guidelines. Please continue to wear a mask & practice social distancing wherever possible. 😷
